The Fabric

Teddy Boucle — The Fabric Nobody Walks Past

Teddy boucle is a dense, curled pile with the plush give of a favourite winter coat. Run a hand across it and the loops shift, catching light in soft, shifting depth rather than a flat sheen. On a headboard this large, that texture does something a smooth fabric simply can’t: it turns a bold statement into an inviting one.

It also softens a room both acoustically and visually. Against crisp white bedding, painted plaster, or warm timber, the teddy boucle reads as considered comfort rather than pure showpiece — exactly why it’s become a go-to finish for bedrooms that need to feel calm as well as elevated.

Nothing here comes off a shelf. When your order lands, the timber is cut, the padding built up, and the boucle stretched and hand-finished by our upholsterers who’ve been doing this for years. Teddy boucle is an unforgiving fabric to work with — its pile shows every lazy seam — so panels are matched and tensioned by hand until the loops run true across the full headboard.

Teddy Riviera Frame Dimensions

The figures below are bed frame dimensions, not mattress sizes. Every Teddy Riviera takes a standard UK mattress in the matching size. As each bed is handmade, please allow a tolerance of ±2cm.

Good to Know:

• Headboard height: 127cm, supplied in a two-piece design for easy access up stairs and around landings
• The headboard extends beyond the frame on each side for the signature wide hotel look
• Base height: 25cm standard, or 30cm with the optional gas-lift slatted ottoman
• Ottoman versions are 6cm longer in every size
• Footboard height: 50cm
